Yosemite National Park is one of the most scenic parks in the United States. It covers more than 750,000 acres. It is a park full of waterfalls, granite mountains, and biodiversity. More than 3.5 million people visit it annually to enjoy its beauty. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.



Yosemite's diverse landscape is the result of changes that have occurred over a period of more than 100 million years.

Glaciers were a decisive factor in the formation of Yosemite Valley.



  • Its elevation ranges from 2,000 feet to 13,000 feet. Yosemite National Park represents 5 major vegetation zones. 

  • About 1400 plant species can be seen here. Giant sequoias, meadow lupines, Indian paintbrushes, and monkey flowers can be seen in abundance.

  • Indigenous people have lived and protected the area known as Yosemite National Park for more than 8,000 years.

  • The park's main attraction is Yosemite Valley. Surrounded by granite cliffs, this area offers many unique attractions.

  • Glacier Point is a scenic spot at an elevation of 7,214 feet.
